Suction filters protect the hydraulic pump from coarse contamination generated by a lack of initial cleaning or by accidental ingression and are fitted on the suction line either inside the oil tank or inline prior to the pump. They usually have filter elements made from steel wire mesh (geometric filtration) and must be sized properly to avoid any possible pump cavitation.
Mikrospin stock suction elements from our Sofima range (MSZ) which are fitted inside the oil tank to protect the pump and systems components, they extend life and reduce breakdown for continous equipment operation and can be used to filter all mineral and petroleum based fluids. The port sizes avaiable range from 1/2" BSP to 3" BSP with flow rates between 15 L/min to 550 L/min, and are 125µ steel wire mesh as standard.
Inline spin-on filters (AMF) are available from stock and are designed especially for the filtration of hydraulic fluids and lubricating oils on power units, off-line systems, agricultural and construction equipment with the elements being quick and easy to replace. They are available with or without bypass with port sizes ranging from 3/4" BSP to 1 1/2" BSP and flow rates between 7 L/min & 150 L/min. The elements available are either 10µ or 25µ cellulose paper as standard but we also have available elements made from glass fibre ranging from 3µ to 21µ which are multi pass tested to achieve the acceptable beta ratio and also 60µ & 125µ steel wire mesh. Optional visual indicators are also available from stock.
We also have available to order other types of suction filters, please telephone our sales office on 01706 378625 or contact us online should you need any further help choosing the correct parts for your application or if you have any special requirements.
